Mamana Mudada is a community empowerment project operating from the core of the Mozambican bush. We are situated on a farm about 10 km outside the rural village of Bela Vista, approximately 60 km South of Maputo. As a skills development project our aim is job creation and sustainable economic growth. To this end, we have introduced the men and women of the district of Mudada to equipment and knowledge that would otherwise have remained outside of their scope of experience. They have embraced the challenge and today Mamana Mudada manufactures jewellery and home décor items of superior quality for export and local commerce purposes. Each item is meticulously hand crafted utilizing natural produce sourced from the surrounding area incorporated with ethnic silver, stone, shell or beads. This careful collaboration has resulted in a style that resonates of rural Africa with a subtle hint of sophistication. Our jewellery is rustic with a raw ethnic quality whilst simultaneously displaying distinct modern tones, lending it the ability to augment any fashion trend regardless of the season.
